Dilated capillaries is a common skin disorder also known as spider veins,
thread veins, vascular blemishes. The medical name for broken capillaries is telangeictasia. They are small permanently
enlarged capillaries that lie in the upper dermis. The walls of the capillary have lost their elasticity and balloon
up to the surface of your skin.
Common causes are genetic predisposition,
sun damage and injury or fluctuating estrogen levels as well
as high blood pressure and exposure to harsh weather. There
are several treatment options for dilated capillaries including
electrolysis, intense pulsed light and laser. My treatment
for dilated capillaries is electrolysis offered in 10 minute
sessions.
My treatment methods offer you a solution that is often more cost effective than other treatment
methods. Using a sterile filament I lightly tap the dilated capillary with a minute amount of energy that produces
heat. Typically dilated capillaries disappear leaving a mild post treatment inflammation which heals easily in one to
two days.
You can reduce the occurrence of dilated capillaries
by always wearing your SPF 35 sunscreen every day, summer,
winter, rain or shine.
